Today I am really glad to live in the state i'm in. It would be so much worse if I lived in kentucky. Someone I know was being abused by his girlfriend ( that's right HIS GIRLFRIEND). He called the cops to report her for abuse and she called, litterally seconds after him to report him for it. He has to signs of abuse and she has so signs of it. He gets arrested, even though his call went in first. He can't be released without a lawyer, at his arrainment he couldn't file charges against her. The officers who picked him up told him that he couldn't file charges against her. He has to hope she doesn't show up at his next court date telling lies about him. They did however take pictures of his injuries., busted lip, big scratches on his face and a large black and blue mark on his upper leg. She didn't have any marks. She does have a broken foot that she has ahd for a while. If she blames that on him he will have a definite 6 months in jail in kentucky.

Let's here it for the common wealth state. Arrest them and put them in jail! Who cares if they are obviously the victim!?! Lock them all away.!

It's not that I don't like the state, but I'd rather live in 1948 than 2008--civilization and all that hadn't gone down the tubes.

I don't think it has anything to do with the state. I'm in the same state as you, years ago I had a boyfriend beat the crap out of me, swollen eye, lots of hair missing, busted lip, etc, it was obvious what happened, the police refused to arrest him or do anything at all about it because they didn't SEE him hit me. And society wonders why so many women (and yes, men too) are killed by their bf/gf/spouse.

I know they say things like that. A friend of mine had his mother destroy their kitchen and the cops told him he had to stay there even though she was obviously mentally unstable. What i think is terrible is that they see the damage and don't do anything to protect the victim.
