Church Attire

Alright, I sometimes go to one of the churches closer to home because i'm afraid to drive my car all the way to the good church. Let's face it. A lot of the other drivers out there are scary. especially where I live.
Something that bothers me about these other churches, besides the mass and irreverence of their religion, is the way some of the people dress. Mostly it's the younger kids and folks in their 20's. But the age isn't really the problem, its the way they don't dress as is they are going before God.

Now, I did it, too, when i was a kid. I didn't understand why my grandmother got so upset with me over it. But I understand now. AndSo I am saying this:

Dress as if you are meeting God.

Why? Because you are. If you don't have little ones to chase into church clothes in the morning, wear a nice skirt(or dress pants) and blouse or a dress. No spaghetti straps(or wear a sweater over the little straps). Mini skirts do not count.
Gentlemen wear a pair of slacks and a polo shirt or a button up dress shirt and tie. Tie not necessary if you don't have one.

If you don't have any of this wear the cleanest, nicest clothes you own.

It also falls into my post on modesty a bit. Ladies: A strapless, mini dress in a garish color is not appropriate for church. even if you wear a sweater. Modesty is something you want to observe, especially in church. You're not going on a date at church. You're there to pray.

That is all. Just something that really bothered me about the local churches.
