I have a new nephew. He's 3 months old now. He was born premature, but he did so well on healing and being able to go home that he did not have to be in the hospital very long.
He started sleeping through the nigh for his parents this month.
He fond his hands a couple days ago! You know, when they suddenly realize their hands are there and look at them with awe. He also had started smiling a few weeks ago.
Babies are so cool!

Made in the USA

I know this is a repeat, but the other post of it was hard to read.

As my husband and I were wandering the mall on Sunday,enjoying each others company, we decided to look in Dillard's in the home sections o see what they had. They have some very nice things. Many of them were not to our taste, being into simplicity and clean lines(which is not in fashion lately).
While looking I remembered a piece one of the news conglomerates did called "Made n America" What I remembered, specifically was that the only thing they could not find, even partially made in the US, was a coffee maker. Now we were out a lot Sunday and Monday and while looking around we found that even the camping percolaters are not made in the us. They are made in China.
While in Dillard's we looked at various products, inevitably, as always, we get to he china(plates and such) section. We enjoy picking out the pattern we will one day have and seeing if it is still in their selection. These are the brands we looked and where they are made.

• Kate Spade by Lenox- USA-possibly specifically new york
• Noritake-Indonesia
• Denby-unknown all had bar code stickers covering them
• Johnson Brothers-Thailand
• Vera Wang-China
• Ralph Lauren-Indonesia
• Mikasa-Thailand
• Wedgewood- England

Now many of these were beautifully designed, but we noticed that a lot of the ones that were made in other countries were not as good as those made in the US. In fact one looked like it had been painted by my 6 yr old niece. While I love her art work and think it's great on my fridge, the "fine china" hopefully made by an adult looked horrible and I think it shouldn't be priced so high for something of that low quality.
All the products carried by Lenox, however, were magnificently done and were what we would expect to be paying a pretty decent amount of money for.

My husband had this to say about the whole experience " I'm just thinking, we've got this whole unemployment problem , but we're shipping hings in from over seas. Where apparently everyone's working.

Personally we're going to find as many products as we can that are made in our own country to furnish our home. I wish we could find more clothing made in the USA. If any of you readers know where I could find that please let me know.
Many of you may want to try looking at your packages when you buy your stuff from now on. you'd be surprised at what you can find out.

Oh yes! before I forget. In case any of you have forgotten your elementary level social studies class.

The definition of a third world country is: one that imports more than it exports.

We are there people. Now ask yourself what you can do about it.

Love & Respect Dr.Emerson

This is a book that my mom gave me to read. It really is a good book. It has a lot of religion in it, bt don't let hat stop you. My husband sneers at it and thinks it's worthless. I don't let that stop me either. He doesn't think hings like that can help a marriage.

It is a marriage help book. It's right. The author is right. It starts by saying that, yes, we are to love each other unconditionally. I know, everyone knows that. But that isn't all you need. You need more than love. He points this out. Not only is it the love thing, it's also the respect thing. Not the way you think either.


Wives are to unconditionally respect their husbands. It's not optional. You don't make them earn it. You just do it. You behave like you respect him. You even tell them you respect them. Why? Because they really don't know that we do, and we've been told we shouldn't. Two generations have been told that husbands (even men in general) don't need or deserve respect. But they do!

Husbands are to unconditionally love their wives. It's not optional either. You don't make them earn it. You behave like you love her. You tell her you love her.Why? Because they really don't know.

Men are programmed to respect(hunter gatherers),women are programmed to love(nurturers caregivers) We speak two different languages t each other about it. Men need to hear and see respect from their wives. Women need to hear and see love from their husbands. Also important. Husbands show love by honoring their wivess as well.

Now. There is much to it besides that. I just can't put it all here. You really need to read the book. But start with this wives. seriously wives only.

Think about what you respect about your husband. No, don't say he hasn't earned it, because he already has, just think. Now think about it harder. When was the last time you told him you respect him. Now remember why you respect him, write it down if you have to. Now, tell him. Leave him a message in his briefcase, lunchbox, on his cell phone or email, or just look him in the eye and tell him that way, but tell him. Be ready with an answer when he asks you why you respect him. Don't make it about you either. Husbands get up and go to work, they provide money for home, clothing and food.(even if you work too dont make it about you) They protect you and yours. Now don't you think they've "earned it" when you think of it like that.


I know his all sounds odd to some of you, but you need to read his book. IT even has separate chapters for each gender. Really. Even if your husband, or wife, is like my husband and scoffs and anything written in a book that you might read that could actually help you.

News From The Local Chanel


This is now a couple days old. I got to watch the late news cast the other day, so I could actually hear it. These were the top news stories and one they put on that I don't think counts as news.


-Ford Workers Vote in favor of striking if nescecary. The union guys are in talks to renew a gain a contract
for the local plant. The workers voted to strike if they can't reach an agreement. IF. they don't even know if they are going to get it yet. The workers want to strike because they haven't had raises in a while, and they want to get higher pay for the workers they just hired. You know, the new guys who you don't know what they might mess up
yet. They are starting at half of what the more senior workers are getting. I don't think they need a raise. I think they need to bee able to keep the job.
Honestly, though. Why complain about not getting a raise when you should just be happy you even have a job in the first place?

-File & Lay (spelling?) A Local mother is still upset about her daughter getting killed in a drunken car crash. Understandable. It's sad. Bt what she is upset about is that SHE changed when she got he phone call saying her kid was dead. WELL DUH! IT's supposed to affect you unless you are an unfeeling bitch. What really pissed me off about this, though, is that she was the paassenger, her boyfriend was driving. Drunk of course, and wrapped the car around a telephone pole. They were both thrown from the vehicle. His blood alcohol level was over the limit or close to it. Now here is what they aren't saying. What was her blood alcohol level? I think that if she had not been drunk also she would have taken keys and driven them home and they wouldn't have wrecked the car.

-75 yr old woman shoots son-in-law Okay. So since the other dy I've heard this was not an accident. But I don't know anymore than that. Here's what e first heard. HE goes to pick up Grandma to watch her grandkids like every saturday before. They are not being real informaive about this. Even with them saying it was not and accident, these were an are my two guesses.

a. She said she didn't want to do it that day and he got mad.
b.She has developed some form of dementia and she thought he was an intruder. You know if he just walked or something.


Sorry about my type problem there. Now he one that is not news. A womans cat has been stuck in a tree since friday. The fire department can't get it down because they don't do that.(duh! it's not a fire or crash) Animal control set a trap(*snicker*) for the cat with food in it. The cat is actually stuck, about 50 feet up, between two branches, for 3 days and no one got a ladder to get this animal down! Come on people!! a kid could climb up there and get it if they liked climbing trees. It's right by the sidewalk so here is a steady place to put the ladder ends. Animal control should be ashamed of themselves for not thinking about the ladder. A cherry picker would work, also. All they did is to show off, once again, ho dumb the whole thing is. 3 days*shakes head* that's just ridiculous.
